If you want to produce multimedia content for your small business, you can use Google’s proprietary YouTube to distribute your content via podcasts.
A YouTube podcast can include videos, slide shows, or audio only. It allows you to share customer tutorials, product news, web episodes, and industry updates while creating a subscriber base for your material.
You can use the external mic with your phone to produce high-quality audios.
Create a YouTube channel for your podcast
Sign up for a YouTube account and log in to the website. If you have a Gmail account, you can use the same username and password for YouTube.
Navigate to youtube.com/create_channel to create a personalized YouTube channel. A screen appears allowing you to create a name for your channel.
Choose your country from the dropdown menu. Enter your date of birth and gender in the appropriate fields. On the next screen, select your privacy settings from the list of options and then click “All set!” button.
Create the URL for your channel’s RSS feed. The format for the feed is http://gdata.youtube.com/feeds/api/users/yourchannelname/uploads. You will use this URL as the RSS feed for your podcast for podcast applications, directories plus MP3 players and smartphones that allow you to subscribe to podcasts.
Navigate to your channel’s home page at youtube.com/yourchannelname. Click the “Upload” button to add videos to your channel.
You will have the option to upload multiple files or even record a video directly to YouTube from your computer’s webcam.
Every time you upload an episode from your podcast, it will be added to your channel’s RSS feed.
This allows podcast apps and directories to automatically download your most recent episode for subscribers.
Add your podcast’s RSS feed URL to your website with a subscription link so your site visitors can easily subscribe to your YouTube podcast.
