Singapore Airlines has regained its title of the best airline of the year it last held in 2008 at the annual World Airline Awards also known as the “Oscars of the aviation industry”. Established almost 20 years ago, the winner of the award is based on the nominations of the air travellers. Skytrax, the company in charge of it, claimed that more than 20 million travellers took part in the 2017/2018 survey.
Last year’s winner Qatar Airways slipped down to second place with Japan’s All Nippon Airways completing the podium.

There are over dozens of other awards ranging from the best cabin crew to the best business class lounges. Other than winning the best airline award of 2018, Singapore Airlines won a total of eight awards which includes Best First Class and Best First Class Seat.
Qatar Airways on the other hand also won the award for the Best Business Class, Best Business Class Seat and Best First Class Lounge and Best Airline in the Middle East.
Garuda Indonesia won the award for the Best Cabin Crew and Thai Airways won the award for the Best Economy Class.
