Air travellers have voted Changi Airport in Singapore as the world’s best airport at the 2018 World Airport Awards for the sixth consecutive year.
Over 500 airports all over the world took part and 13.73 million air travellers from more than 100 nationalities participated in the nominations of the award.
The survey evaluates traveller’s experience across various key performance indicators ranging from check-in, arrivals, transfers, shopping, security, leisure amenities, and immigration till departure at the gate.
The staffs at Changi Airport is extremely focused on making the airport experience comfortable, convenient and exciting as it continues to innovate with new product and service features. Last year in 2017, Changi Airport successfully opened a new terminal, Terminal 4, and upgraded parts of Terminal 1. Jewel Changi Airport is anticipated to open in the 1st quarter of 2019.
Apart from being voted for the Best Airport in Asia, Changi Airport was also voted the Best Airport for Leisure Amenities and has held this title since the award category was introduced in 2009.
This festive season in November 2018, Changi Airport has created some life-sized installations inspired by some of the most iconic locations from the Harry Potter series such as Hogsmeade Village, Diagon Alley and Whomping Pillow. They are even have giveaways and the exciting activities for fans and visitors such as trying on the Hogwarts wizard robes, give spell casting a shot and toss Quaffle balls in Quidditch sport. There are also a collection of Harry Potter memorabilia up for grabs. This is the first time a Harry Potter themed event is being held outside of Universal Studios theme parks, and the first in an airport.
